When Bonnie & Clyde meet, mutual cravings for excitement immediately set them on a mission to chase their dreams of fame. Their bold and reckless behavior turns the young lovers’ thrilling adventure into a downward spiral, putting themselves and their loved ones in trouble with the law. Forced on the run from every southern state’s police force, the notorious lovers resort to robbery and murder to survive. As the infamous duo’s fame grows bigger, their inevitable demise draws nearer. Bonnie & Clyde is a thrilling and sexy musical with a non-traditional score, combining blues, gospel and rockabilly music.
The musical debuted on Broadway in December 2011, it was nominated for 3 Outer Critics Circle Awards and 5 Drama Desk Awards, both including Best New Musical, as well as two nominations for the 2012 Tony Awards. Subsequent productions have since been staged internationally following the submission of the work to Music Theater International, including productions in Japan, Korea and the U.K. (Source: Wikipedia)

The gruesome death scene of Bonnie and Clyde in the opening scene is just a teaser to special effects designer Todd Debreceni’s gore designs. His effects are used throughout the show and provide a realness and grounding to each death scene and bullet wound. Another aspect that really stood out, was the use of projections designed by Brian Freeland, which brought to life a simple stage by Tina Anderson.
