Educational Programs

Tow Hall Arts Educational Programs - Learning for life through arts education.

The Actors’ Playground is our in-house theatre education program, providing daytime, after-school and evening classes for everyone ages 4 and up! Our instruction is welcoming to first-time students and appropriately challenging for experienced actors. Performance classes conclude with a production on the THAC Main Stage. We also are pleased to provide a performance class for actors with special needs: The Mark Stahlman Memorial Theatre and Movement Class. THAC also offers private coaching in acting, auditioning, singing, dance, stage combat, improv, and many other disciplines of theatre arts.

Actors’ Workshops build strong educational foundations for young performers and focus on the specific skills that help round out every young actor.

Workshops are highly specialized and focus on individual disciplines of theatre arts, such as: monologue preparation, scene study, song performance, successful auditioning, dance and vocal and choral performance.

Arts on the Move connects THAC with schools in our community. We invite educators to contact us about field trips, workshops and productions that can be tailored to meet their students’ unique needs. We love it when students visit us for backstage tours and meet-and-greets with our staff. We also love it when our traveling shows, workshops and productions are invited onto local school campuses. THAC offers participation plays and seminars on a variety of topics, including auditioning, improvisation, playwriting, stage combat and Shakespeare (both for performance and literary analysis). Our teaching artists are also available to lead classroom instruction for one or more days on an array of topics and to consult on the direction school productions.

Private Coaching Sessions

THAC offers private lessons for all aspects of performance. Just let us know what you are looking for, and we will connect you with an industry professional who can customize a lesson in-person or online. We often cover audition preparation for shows and college admissions and vocal, dance and monologue work. For more information, please email Robert Michael Sanders.

Customized Events

Whether you’re looking to make it a memorable evening, a successful fundraiser, or an effective team-building exercise in your workplace — THAC welcomes hearing from you. We regularly work with an array of community groups, nonprofit organizations and companies to create events on specific topics that help groups of all kinds and sizes achieve their goals. These specially tailored events can be held at Town Hall Arts Center or at the location of your choice.
